Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. William Arthur “Billy” Cooper, Sr., age 82, of Highway 24 West, Bartow, who died Saturday evening, November 18, 2017.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the Old Bethel Baptist Church in Bartow with Rev. Larry Fincher and Rev. Tim Pendry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Parkers United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jim Cooper, Brian Walden, Robert Huff, Johnny Gordy, Ed James and Gary Smith.
A native of Bartow, Mr. Cooper was a son of the late Hoke and Gladys Cooper. He served in the Army National Guard for 32 years and was a member of the rifle and pistol teams. He was a carpenter and had worked for Burns Manufacturing Co., Andrews Construction Co., Morgan Construction, Project Branch at Ft. Gordon and was a longtime member of Old Bethel Baptist Church.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Hollis Cooper and Larry Brian Cooper. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty S. Cooper; son and daughter in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Cooper, Jr. (Sabrina); grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher S. Cooper (Allie), all of Bartow, and special friends, Tina, Chris and Christopher Biggers.
The Cooper family will be at the residence, 3586 Ga. Highway 24 West in Bartow.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ladies at Paula’s Home Place and Pruitt Home Health for their excellent care given to Billy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.
