Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Aubrey Marshall Sexton, age 78, of Friendship Church Road, Bartow, who died Thursday night, May 17, 2018, in the Jefferson Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018, at Davisboro Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Holtzclaw, Rev. Lamar Jackson, and Rev. Larry Glover officiating. Mr. Sexton will be placed in the church 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Davisboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jason Holtzclaw, Jonathan Medlin, Alex Lester, Jamie Martin, Matt White and Chris Coker.
A native of Gainesville, GA. Mr. Sexton was a son of the late Lane Sexton and Laura McGhee Sexton. He was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and an army veteran. He was also a truck driver for Wright Plastic and the owner Sexton’s Restaurant. He was a member of Davisboro Baptist Church and a former member of Silver City Baptist Church.
Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Eugene and Peg Whitmire, nephew, Craig Wofford, and great-grandson Isaiah Key. Survivors include: wife, Peggy Ann Whitmire Sexton of Bartow; daughters and sons-in-law, Mellony and Clifford Peck of Cumming, GA and Rhonda and Thomas Johnson of Cumming, GA; Son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Mary B. Holtzclaw of Bartow; brother, Cleveland and Donna Sexton; sisters, Christa and Nelson Shumake, Elaine and Bret Foster, Nedra Riddle, grandchildren, Tonya Newberry, Meshelle Martin, Jason Holtzclaw, Melissa White, Jonathan Medlin, Amanda Taylor, Alex Lester, and Jessica Lester; 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The Sexton family will receive friends 4:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, May 19, and after 1:00 PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
