Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Daniel Woodrow (D.W.) McGahee, age 78, who entered into rest Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his home in Louisville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be: Jason McGahee, Ronnie Rogers, Bill Hattaway, Trey Becton, Denny Barrow and Joe Sheppard. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of The Morning Coffee Club.
A native of Jefferson County, Mr. McGahee was the son of the late Lois Humphry McGahee & Lindsey Clifford McGahee. He was a 1958 graduate of Wrens High School and was employed by Thermo King as a Quality Assurance Inspector for over 30 years. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Walden’s United Methodist Church.
D.W. is preceded in death by his parents, 13 siblings, James McGahee, C. Y. McGahee, Marion Davis, John McGahee, Gladys Willis, Mary Lee McGahee, Glenn McGahee, Elton Ray McGahee, Martha Rogers, Ralph Lewis McGahee, Edgar McGahee, Melvin McGahee and Frances Bradley, and is survived by daughters and son in law; Rhonda M. & Robert Becton, Marla M. Snelling, granddaughter; Hannah Snelling, grandson; Trey Becton, 2 great grandsons, brothers and sisters in law, Harold & Marie McGahee and Fay & Ann McGahee; the mother of his children, Jean G. McGahee & numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The McGahee family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
