Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death & services of Mr. Joel Brunson Akins, age 70 of Hobbs Road Gibson who died Sunday morning October 6, 2019 at his residence.
Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday October 12, 2019 in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Rev. Stacy Williford officiating.
Joel was a native of Statesboro a graduate of Brooklet High School. He retired after many years of services as an self-employed Truck Drive and was a member of Gibson Church of God.
Joel is survived by his loving wife Sharon Akins of Gibson.
The Akins family will receive friends following the services Saturday at the funeral home.
