Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Joyce Cobb Stavely, age 87 of Wadley, who died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in the Keysville Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday October 19, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tom Harrison officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be: Donald Cobb, Jr., Barry Cobb, Charles Smith, Jr., Michael Cobb, Andy Cobb, and Keith Hall.
A native of Jefferson County, Mrs. Stavely was the wife of Robert Ashley Stavely, and a daughter of Tom Wilson Cobb and Marie Lawson Cobb. She was a graduate of Davisboro High School, attended Hurst Business College and was the bookkeeper for Stavely Equipment Company. Mrs. Stavely was also a homemaker, a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Ogeechee Valley Country Club Women’s Golf Association.
Mrs. Stavely is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donald L. Cobb, Sr. and Lester A. Cobb; sister Diane Cobb Smith, and is survived by daughters, Debra Stavely Evans and Don of Wadley, Pamela Stavely Blount of Stapleton; son Robert Anthony Stavely and Angela of Louisville; grandsons; W. Ryan Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Donald Evans, III of Wadley, John P Kelly, Jr. of Wadley, Anthony Nicholas Stavely of Atlanta, Samuel Robert Stavely of Vinings; granddaughter, Ashley Kelly Holley of Stapleton; great grandchildren Asher and Addie Holley, and Dylan and Anna Evans. Surviving sisters, Faye Cobb Harris of Gulf Breeze, FL and Linda Cobb Hall of Bartow, Ga.; brother Jerry K. Cobb of Louisville, Ga., sister-in-law, Carolyn Stavely Andrews of Tennille, many nieces and nephews.
The Stavely family will receive friends Thursday October 18, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Stavely family will gather Wednesday and Thursday at the home of Don and Debra Evans, 3897 Bostic Mill Road, Wadley, Georgia 30477.
