Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Robert E. Landrum, Sr., age 80, of Highway 171 S., Edgehill, who died Sunday morning December 23, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday in the Mitchell Full Gospel Church with Rev. Sam Griswell & Rev. Jackie Downs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Usry, Justin Usry, Ryan Landrum, Robert Landrum III, Charlie Metz, & Caleb Metz. Honorary Pallbearers will be all children from Grandma & Grandpa’s daycare and all children who rode Mr. Bob’s bus.
Mr. Landrum, affectionately known as Bus Driver Mr. Bob, was a native of Columbia County, but had lived in Edgehill for many years. He attended Purvis School, was a United States Air Force Veteran, and retired from Fort Gordon after 20 years of service as an Automotive Inspector with the state of Georgia. He then drove the Glascock County Head Start bus for 15 years. Mr. Landrum was a long-time member of Mitchell Full Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie & Alma Landrum, brothers, Willis Landrum & Seaborn Landrum, sisters, Elean Griffin & Olean Landrum and is survived by loving wife of 55 years, Nancy L. Landrum, daughters, Martha Jean Metz, & Rhonda M. Landrum, sons, Robert E. Landrum, Jr., & Ronnie & Andrea Landrum, grandchildren, Charlie & Jennifer Metz, Robert E. Landrum III, Ryan C. Landrum, Melissa Frey, Rhonda Wolff, Cheryl Kirk, Andrew Johnson, Matthew Johnson & Kellie Johnson Kitchens, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorials to Mitchell Full Gospel Church.
The Landrum family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday December 26 at the funeral home.
