Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Billy Neal of Bartow, who died Wednesday evening, March 24, 2021 in his residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Bartow Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Hampton Brown, Chip Evans, Bill Cooper, Keith Scarboro, Barry Bedingfield, and L. C. Clark. Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is required.
A native of Glascock County, Billy was the son of the late Ralph Neal, Sr., and the late Nancy Snider Neal. Billy attended Glascock County High School. He joined the Army during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, Billy was hired by Georgia Power as a lineman. After retiring from GA Power, he worked for the county shop for 20 years. He was a Bartow City Councilman for 35 years, and the Chief of the City of Bartow Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bonnie Neal, his second wife Violet Moore Neal, and survived by, sons, Tracy (Ann) of Wrens, Clay (Karen) Neal of Bartow, granddaughter, Haleigh (Hampton) Brown of Louisville, grandson, Tyler Neal of Statesboro, sister Jenny (Jimmy) Maness of Augusta, extended family, Ray (Cindy) Bryant, Randy (Laura) Garrett, Shawn (Amanda) Jones, Hodassah, Abigail, Stephen, Benjamin, Titus, Chanan Jones, Kyle (Charlie) Bryant, Bryar Bryant, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home Louisville.
