Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mr. Charles H. Perry, age 80 of 1275 Perry Drive in Louisville, who died Tuesday afternoon December 28, 2021, in the Augusta University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Walden’s United Methodist Church in Avera, with Rev. Doug Mays and Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be former coworkers Tracy Thomas, Kenny Colson, Greg Reese, Don Sheppard, Richard Vinke, Grant Hilton, Danny Peterman and Larry Griggers.
A native of Hartwell, Georgia, Mr. Perry was the son of John Olin Perry and Francis Herndon Perry. He graduated from Hart County High School and retired from the Georgia Dept. of Revenue Property Tax Division after 35 years of service as an appraiser. As one stated, “Charlie was the epitome of a true friend and gentleman, loved the outdoors and all that God created.” He loved hunting and fishing and was also a gifted photographer.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Linda Brown and Diane Carter, and is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Katherine Perry of Louisville, sons, Jeff (Karen) Perry, of Danielsville, Ga., Joe (Amy) Perry, of Athens, daughters, Georgianna (Bob) Pal of Tampa, FL, Samantha (Fred) Daniel of Murfreesboro, Tn., grandchildren, Alex Perry, Megan Perry, Mark Perry, Mitch Perry, Robbie Pal, CJ Pal, April Pal, Helen Grace Daniel & Nathan Daniel, sisters, Jane Dove, Elberton, Ga., and Karen Martin, Hartwell, GA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The Perry family will greet friends at the residence and following the services Sunday at the Church.
