Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death & funeral services of Mrs. Frances Jones age 98 of Peachtree Street Louisville, who died Sunday September 20, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside 2:00 PM Tuesday September 22, in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Peter Vermeule and Mr. Larry Hodges.
A native of Bartow, Georgia, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Mark F. Watkins and Sally Cooper Watkins. She had owned and operated The Sandwich Shop in downtown Louisville. She was a homemaker who loved to cook. Mrs. Jones was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church. She was a sweet, loving, and caring mother.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy J. Jones, brothers, Frank Watkins, and H. E. “Shorty” Watkins, sisters, Nina Eubanks, Ruby Hartley, Ruth Horne, Hattie Hodges, Christine Hanley, and Bobbie Poole. She is survived by her son Mickey Jones of Wadley, daughter, Sherri and Louie Handberry of Wadley, grandsons, Jonathan Jones of Wadley, and Travis Jones of Decatur, granddaughter, Sara Jones of Sandersville, great granddaughter, Samantha Jones of Louisville, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindnesses & Love given by caregivers, Gladys Hill & Lovia Wise.
The family will receive friends follow the services Tuesday in the Cemetery.
