Gloria "Goggie" Smith

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mrs. Gloria S. Smith, known to her family and friends as Goggie, age 80 of Pete Smith road Wadley who died Saturday evening October 10, 2020 in University Hospital Augusta.

Funeral services will be held from the Graveside 11:00AM Tuesday October 13, 2020 in the Moxley United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Boggs, Mr. Benjamin Phillips, and Mr. Smitty Lamb officiating. Pallbearers will be Smitty Lamb, Tim Lamb, Dave Bailey, Donnie Bailey, Charles Smith, Jr., Chris Oglesby, Andy Edwards, Brad Campbell & Ken Watkins. Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is encouraged.

A native of Wadley, Goggie was the daughter of the late Clarence Alvie Smith and Ada Dell Watkins Smith. She was a graduate of Wadley High School, a homemaker, and a longtime member of Moxley United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son in-law, David Phillips, and is survived by, husband of 59 years Wynder Smith of Wadley, daughter and son in-law, Alisa (Greg) Holley of Wadley, daughter, Sharon Phillips of Wadley, son and daughter in-law, Clint (Kim) Smith of Wadley, Grandchildren, Rob (Sarah) Holley of Louisville, Abbey (Chris) Meyer of Atlanta, Heather Holley of Atlanta, Benjamin (Jana) Phillips of Statesboro, Emily Phillips of Wadley, Will Smith of Wadley, Samuel Smith of Wadley, great grandchildren, Emeri and Eva Holley of Louisville, Stiles Phillips of Statesboro, sisters, Annette Bailey of Waynesboro, Judy Lamb of Louisville, brother and sister in-law Charles (Bettilu) Smith of Wadley, sister in-law Patricia Edwards, and several nieces and nephews.
