Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Isaac Morgan Usry, age 79, of Stapleton who died Thursday evening, January 20, 2022, in the Augusta University Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Gibson with Rev. Edward Carothers officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

A native of Gibson, Isaac was a son of the late Littleton Carlyle “Buddy” Usry and Lizzy Sue Morgan Usry. ‘Mr. Isaac’, as he was known to students and staff at Glascock County School System where he served as the Maintenance Director and Transportation Director. During his time with the school system He was responsible for the upkeep of the school facilities for 36 years from February 1973 until his retirement in June 2009. Mr. Isaac was a kind, gentle, Christian man who earned great respect from others through the way he conducted his professional and personal life. Isaac was a member of Born Again Baptist Church in Harlem for the past 16 years.

Mr. Usry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bobby Isaac Usry,  4 brothers, Paul, Donnell, Thomas & Terry Usry and is survived by beloved wife of 57 years, Susie Huff Usry, daughters, Kimberly Ann Usry, & Kristie Lee Usry all of Stapleton, sisters & brothers-in-law, Mildred & Ed Barrow, of Wrens, Margie & Melvin Black, of Gibson, brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Jean Usry of Gibson, sisters-in-law, Karolyn Usry & Joyce Usry both of Gibson, several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home.
