Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Iva Jean Johnson Bishop, age 85, of Louisville, who died Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Pruitt Health Swainsboro after a short illness.
Visitation and funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, May 5, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Larry Montgomery officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 pm, funeral services at 2 pm and burial will immediately follow.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Emanuel County to J.B. Johnson and Sarah Pierce Johnson. She graduated from Jenkins County High School. She was a retiree of Georgia Power and maintained an active social life for many years with her long-time companion Ray Clements of Bartow. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Louisville, loved roses, keeping a diary, and dreamed of one day traveling the world.
Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years B.L. Bishop, brother, Billy Johnson, brother-in-law, William “Bill” Toulson, and is survived by her daughter Kim Stepp (Tony) of Louisville, son Chris Bishop (Nancy) of Cornelius, NC, sister Joyce Johnson Toulson of Louisville, grandchildren Jordan Stepp (Pascal Cureton) of Athens, Jared Stepp (Disney Cuddington) of Lexington, SC, Kennedy Bishop and Addison Bishop of Cornelius, NC, Shelley Caudle (Clinton Parks) of Cornelius, NC, Jenna Cleotelis (Evan) of Winder, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins and extended family – beloved among them, Monica Lewis Brinson of Millen.
