Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Jimmie Chalker Walden, age 78, of Gibson who died Wednesday, morning April 13, 2022, at her residence.
A funeral will be held 3:00 PM Saturday April 16, in the Bethel Church of Glascock County in Gibson with Rev. Tommy Anderson officiating. Service can be viewed on the Taylor Funeral Home website at www.taylorfhgibson.com Burial will follow in the Gibson City cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven L. Brooks, Justin B. McGahee, Quinton W. McGahee, Caleb C. McGahee, Tony Lampp, Mike Lyons, Clay Holbrook, and Steve Gunby. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Bethel Church.
Mrs. Walden was a lifelong resident of Glascock County, one of six children of the late Lamar Chalker and Bettie Lee Lamb Chalker. She had worked for Gibson Garment and Thomson Company for many years and was a lifelong member of Bethel Church.
Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Abbott Walden, sisters Mary Lou Chalker, Dorothy Thigpen and Virginia Chalker, and is survived by her daughter Cyndi M. Wren (Barry), of Louisville, her son Jeff W. McGahee (Julie), of Gibson, grandchildren Justin McGahee (Ashlee), Quinton McGahee, (Elizabeth), Caleb McGahee, (Kaylie), Steven Brooks and Bailey Wren, (Tori) 3 great grandchildren, Sawyer, Tristan and Mallory, sister Betty Shelton, of Wrens a brother Walter L. Chalker, of Millen a sister-in-law Gloria W. Hawkins of Gibson, several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening April 15, at the Funeral Home
