Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Lillie Ruth Gilmore, age 71, of Bartow who died Wednesday September 1, 2021, in the Jefferson Hospital.

Graveside service will be held at 1:15 PM, Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Old Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Calvin Oliphant, George Dawson, Laray O. Avery, Matthew Givens, Derrick Williams, and Clarence Gilmore.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.

A native of Swainsboro, Lillie was the daughter of the late William Brantley and Adell Curtis Brantley. She graduated from Swainsboro High School. She was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church where she was the President of the Deaconess Ministry, Assistant President of the Missionary Ministry, and Assistant President of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry. Mrs. Lillie worked for the Diana Shop, Bill Dollar Store, Wadley Shirt Factory, AYP, Ingles of Louisville and Wrens, and Pruitt Nursing Home. She retired from Ingles as a cook/clerk worker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Deacon Willie James Gilmore, and survived by daughters, Vanessa (Henry) Young III of Jacksonville, FL., Kimberly Ann Gilmore of Charlotte, NC., Annie Cora Hill of Louisville, sons, Antione (Valerie) Gilmore of Augusta, Damon (Eva) Gilmore of Milledgeville, grandchildren, Anteonia, Antione, Ca’Nyia, Cornelius, Adrianna, Kennidi, Demonte, Amarian, Donqual, Henry IV, Roger, Regina, Gary, Earnest, Deric, Tishira,  great grandchildren, Raheem Burns, and a host of great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Martin of Millville, NJ., Ruby Hills of Twin City, brother, Jackie Hills of Swainsboro, sister in-law, Gladys Howard, God sons, Calvin Oliphant of Louisville, George Dawson of Louisville, Pastor Robert Stokes, special friend, Angel Hill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

There will be an open visitation on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville will be in charge of arrangements.
