Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Lizzie Mae Johnson King, age 71, of Dearing, Ga, who died in her home surrounded by family Sunday, January 26, 2020.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Reese officiating and Mr. Barry Hyman eulogizing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Chalker, Pat Archer, A.J. Sleister, John Johnson, Russell Tharpe, Wayne Johnson, and Charles Reese.
Mrs. King was the daughter of Charlie Johnson and Mary Catherine Whitehead. She was a seamstress for many years with Thomson Company and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mike “Butch” King, brothers, Leroy Johnson, Riley Johnson & Robert Johnson, and 12 other siblings and is survived by her son, Tony Mills of Dearing, daughters, Yvonne Redfern & Anthony Treadwell of Thomson, Wanda & Pat Archer of Tennile, sister, Betty & Barry Hyman, of Norwood, grandchildren, Laura Martin, Shandi & Justin Chalker, Olivia Hall, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
Those desiring, in lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 7359 Hamburg State Park Rd, Mitchell, GA 30820.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 29 from 6 to 8 PM at Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson.
