Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Michael Stephen Smith, age 48, of Wadley who died August 20, 2021, in Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Louisville. The Smith Family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral services. Michael’s wish was for everyone in attendance to dress casually, come as you are.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.  

A native of Louisville, Michael was a son of the late George Terry Smith and the late Grace Williams Sheppard. He was the owner of J & K Construction Company.

Michael was preceded in death by his father & mother, and is survived by his wife, Tara Kelley Smith, daughters, Jessica Smith (Jarrod), Kelley Smith, brother, Tim Smith (Tasha), granddaughter, Emma Pickard, grandson, Luke Pickard, stepfather, Joe Sheppard, father & mother in-law, Billy Kelley, Sr. (Stella), brother & sister in-law, Billy Kelley, Jr. (Robyn), several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Because of the unexpected nature of Michaels death, the family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to Taylor Funeral Home, 401 West 8th Street Louisville, GA 30434 to help with expenses.
