Taylor funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Robert Leon “Bobby” Snider, Sr., age 78 of Bethel Acres Road in Gibson who died Monday morning June 27, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday Junes 30, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with President, Kirk Mitchell officiation. Burial will follow in the Gibson Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benny Walden, Craig Davis, Charles Hadden, Levi Swint, Steve Teal and Pete LaGrone.
Bobby was born March 4, 1944, in Mitchell, GA a son of the late DeLeon Snider & Christine Johnson Snider. He had worked for more than 20 years with Yancey Brothers heavy equipment as a Diesel Mechanic and then Washington County as Superintendent of the Road department. Bobby became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1978 and was a member of the Harlem Ward. He was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of Gibson Lodge 257 F&AM in Gibson.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Pete Snider, Bill Snider, Polly Williford, Julia Jones, and Sherrye Wrinkler. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Fay Williams Snider, daughters Laura (Charles) Harmotta of Gibson, April (Thomas) Shelton of Warranton and a son Robert Snider, Jr., 4 grandchildren Crystal (Neal) Reeves, Tara (Matthew) Edwards, Amber Shelton, Walker (Destiny) Shelton, great grandchildren, Carson, Dawsyn, Hadley, sisters Sarah Grace Parrish of Augusta and Mary Laura Saye of Athens, several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
