Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Sara Jeanette Shelton, age 90 of Gibson who died Friday afternoon August 20, 2021, in the Gibson Health and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Josh Davis, John Zimmerman, Jeff Davis, Charles Reese, Alston Brassell, and David Usry.

A native of Stapleton Mrs. Shelton was a daughter of the late Frank Kitchens & Eula Newman Kitchens. She retired after many years of service as a Seamstress from Stapleton Garment.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.  

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel Shelton, son, Donald Shelton, daughter, Joanne Palmer, grandchildren, Dana Palmer, and Brandon Palmer. She is survived by, her daughter, Dianne (Jeff) Davis, of Gibson, grandchildren, Brandi, Amy (Clinton), Danny, Serena(John), Ashley(Jason), Josh(Stacy), Hollie, Heather(Brandi), Raven(Pablo), Paisley, Presley Anne, Fynnley, 18 great grandchildren, sister Rubye Reese, brother Lamar Kitchens, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Shelton family will receive friends on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
