Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death & funeral services of Mrs. Sarah G. Bowles, age 88 of Blackjack Road Louisville who died Friday afternoon September 11, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be private with burial in the Louisville City Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Melchior & Mr. Tommy New officiating. Pallbearers will be Gavin Sapp, Bill Godowns, Cole Godowns, John Gordy, Mark Bowles, Mel Dye, Bill Rountree, Wayne Rountree & Mike Bowles.
A native of Emanuel County Mrs. Bowles was a daughter of the late Wallace Gordy & Bobbie Muns Gordy. She married the love of her live Mr. Luther J. “Bud” Bowles, Jr., in February 1950. She had a great love for her family, crafts & cooking. She had worked at the nursing home, Piggly Wiggly and was the bookkeeper for the family business. Sarah was a member of Louisville First Baptist Church for more than 50 years and the Georgia Ramblers Motor Coach Association for 17 years.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Brenda Dye, and 2 brothers, Billy Gordy & Bobby Gordy, and is survived by son Luther J. “Sonny” Bowles and his wife Jan of Louisville, daughter, Donna Bowles Clements and her husband, Carter of Atlanta, sister Linda G. & Billy Godowns of Louisville, sister in-law, Runelle Gordy of Centerville, brother in-law, Melvin Dye, of Louisville, grandchildren, Katherine Carter Clements of Atlanta, & Bonnie Clements Sapp, of Atlanta, great grandchildren Gavin K. Sapp & Liam Clements both of Atlanta, several nieces & nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindnesses & Love given by Mattie Burton, Shirley Thomas, Martha Brantley & Niki Taylor.
