Wilbert Thompson Obituary

Wilbert S. Thompson was born May 11, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Anita Fleming Heit and Wilbert S. Robertson.  At an early age Wilbert became affectionately known as "Denny" by his family and friends in Philadelphia because of his innocent shenanigans which brought laughter to everyone. After relocating to Louisville, Georgia he was nicknamed "Will".  Very peacefully and quietly, Denny also known as "Will", transitioned to eternal rest on April 1, 2022.

Celebration of life service will be held by the family in Philadelphia, PA.

Denny attended schools in New York, and Pennsylvania eventually graduating from North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pennsylvania in 1974.  He went on to matriculate at Drake University in De Moines, Iowa and majored in Graphic Arts.  While attending Drake University Denny proudly pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Denny worked several jobs in Philadelphia before relocating to the South to Louisville, Georgia in 1992.   Denny worked numerous jobs in the South prior to going on disability.  He enjoyed putting things together and taking them apart.  If something was broken or not working, you name it, Denny will fix it.  Denny was known to help people in his community by assisting them in applying for all types of tasks, for example, assistance and helping them with legal documents. His favorite pastime was watching sports. horror/sci fi movies and doing things on his tablet.  Denny loved to travel to Philadelphia to visit his family, and recently to Dallas, TX to visit his son Michael.   He had a very close bond with his mother, known by many as "Ms. Nita".  Denny was called "Nanny Panny" by his mother and immediate family as a child. He served as his dear mother’s caregiver until she passed away in September 2021.  Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Anita Heit and Wilbert Robertson

Denny leaves to cherish in his memories, his brother John Thompson of Philadelphia, PA., Susan (Larry) Atkins of Augusta, GA., his daughters, Raushanna Thompson of Philadelphia, PA, Chantell Thompson of Philadelphia, PA, and Chanel Thompson Drummond (Walter) of Holmes, PA. his sons Michael Thompson (Anthony) of Dallas, TX, and Kenneth Thompson of Virginia Beach.  His grandchildren Mhalik, Robert. Semaya, many cousins and a host of friends.
