Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Zona Brassell, age 87 of Gibson, who died Monday, March 21, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022 in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson, with Chaplain Keith Bartlett and Chaplain Karina Salter-Wood officiating. A graveside service for the family will follow in the cemetery of The Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Harwell. Pallbearers will be Caleb Kitchens, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Smith, Travis Whitaker, Slayton Kitchens, and Frank Youngblood.
A native of Macon Mrs. Brassell was the daughter of Charlie Wright, Sr., and Beulah Lee Bowden. She was a graduate of Richmond Academy and a homemaker. She was also a poll worker for Glascock County and a licensed practical nurse, and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brassell is predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert Eugene Brassell, and her brother Charlie Monroe Wright, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Kitchens (Kim) of Gibson, a son Robert Brassell, Jr. (Venice), Arab, Al., granddaughters Kimberly Whitaker (Travis), Katie Smith (Daniel), Mandy Reynolds (Ryan), Allie Brassell (Robyn), Grandsons Kip Kitchens (Holly), Slayton Kitchens (Abegail), and Caleb Kitchens and great granddaughters, Miranda, Natalie, Anya, Abrie, Anise, Andie, Ila Mae and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm, March 24, prior to the funeral service at Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson.
